Board Approved Funding Guidelines
Funding of programs and services within the Benicia Unified School District is a collaborative process between the BEF and the schools. Each year, representatives from the BEF meet with leaders at each school site to identify and prioritize funding needs—programs and services that fall outside of the BUSD annual budget. The BEF board maintains responsibility for ensuring that all proposed programs or services fall within its funding guidelines.
- All BEF funds will be directed within one of the following categories: Curriculum and Instruction, Curriculum Support, Technology, Health and Safety, or Enrichment.
- Funding decisions are made on an annual basis.
- BEF funds will directly benefit students.
- BEF funds are intended to benefit all BUSD students, K-12.
- BEF funds will be distributed after consultation with parents, teachers and/or administrators at each school site, within funding guidelines.
